Dana White recently reached out to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to help improve the UFC’s rankings system, possibly using artificial intelligence.
The UFC president confirmed his talks with the Meta CEO during an interview Thursday with TNT Sports.
“I could go on but I won’t do it,” White said. “We’ve been having meetings literally this week to work on that. I’ve actually talked to Mark Zuckerberg as well about AI, so yeah. I’m going to completely overhaul the taxonomy. And we’re going to make a lot of aggressive moves here going forward into 2025.”

White has previously expressed frustration with the current rankings voted on by a group of UFC media selectors, a system that has been in place since 2013.
“I can’t deal with incompetence,” White said earlier this month. “I can’t take it anymore. It’s driving me crazy. I can’t let people I don’t believe know what they’re talking about dealing with the rankings anymore. I just have to find a solution.”
According to MMA Junkie, recent complaints include Max Holloway being ranked under Justin Gaethje, and Renato Moicano’s ranking remaining unchanged after his win over Benoit St. Denis in September.
