Maren Morris and her ex-husband Ryan Hurd are taking the music world by storm, releasing their new single on Friday, October 25th.

Morris, 34, released a song called “People Still Show Up.” Announcing the song via Instagram, she coyly wrote: “Someone change the subject… 🧡.”

With lyrics like, “Life’s got you so low, down into the mud, but people still show up,” and “Why when the world ends and you don’t have a friend, they’re the friends you choose.” “Don’t you ever think to call people who ride in a pickup truck,” the song seems to pay tribute to friends who provide support during difficult periods in life.

For his part, Heard (37 years old) released the song “This Party Sucks” on Friday.

“New home and new music. This concert sucks,” Heard wrote via Instagram earlier this week, out Friday on Big Machine Records. “Give me a high five in the comments if you’re as thrilled as I am. 🍻.”

On the new version, Heard sings about getting up to the kind of party he used to enjoy, but now wishes he was somewhere else with his lover.

“I’m trying to figure out how long we should stay. I used to love this – but now I hate champagne,” he sings in one part, while other lyrics include, “Baby, come and save me from this little conversation. I’m thinking of nothing but running away, you and me.” .

The two singers met in 2014 during a songwriting session, and married four years later. Morris filed for divorce in October 2023 after five years of marriage, and it was finalized in January. Since then, she and Heard have remained committed to peacefully raising their 3-year-old son, Hayes.

“The co-parenting thing is going well,” Morris said during a September appearance on the “Armchair Expert” radio show. “We’re doing our best this way, but it’s still very new.”

Morris is also starting to dip her toe back into the dating scene after coming out as bisexual this summer.

“[I’m dating] “A little bit,” Morris said during an appearance on the “Chicks in the Office” radio show last month. “I mean, I’ve never dated. Like, I’ve been in two long-term relationships with guys, and I’ve never had that dating phase because I’ve always been working [and] “I ended up having long relationships with people I worked with or was close to.”

“Dating for the first time, in your 30s, is wild, and,” she added at the time [joining app] Raya is wild. I’ve had some good experiences from it, and fortunately, nothing crazy traumatic.

“Dating now is great and fun, but I feel bad saying this, it gives me material to write songs about,” Morris added on the Chicks in the Office radio show. “Like, ‘Sorry for using you.’ It’s like helping me get to the person’s point of view, like preparing the actor. I’m going my way.” [acting]Like bad date, good date [or] Whatever it is between them, it really feeds me.

Morris released an EP titled Intermission, which features songs about her divorce from Heard, in August.

“I feel like I’m still in the early stages of discovering my sound. I made a whole record, and then my life exploded,” she exclusively told Us Weekly in February. “I’m kind of back to square one, which is not scary for me anymore because… Nothing can shake me at this point. “I’m in an interesting phase of finding out what the sound is.”
