Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd are gearing up for new music releases following their split.
Morris and Heard revealed this week that they will each release new singles on Friday, October 25.
Morris, 34, announced her song “People Still Show Up” on Instagram on Tuesday, October 22, by sharing what appears to be a cover of the single.
The day before, Heard, 37, announced his new single with a photo of himself holding a cardboard sign reading “This party sucks” on Instagram. On the next slide, the cardboard sign says “OUT FRIDAY.”
The video for the song will be released on Friday as well, he said in a follow-up post.
“And the news continues: This is an infamous party on Friday. If you watch the whole thing, you’ll get 3 years of good luck and I’ll buy you a beer next time you see me out and about. 🍻,” he wrote in the caption.
Heard and Morris’ divorce was finalized in January, three months after Morris submitted his report citing “irreconcilable differences.” They have been married for five years and have a 4-year-old son, Hayes.
Speaking to PEOPLE in August, Morris said that although she draws inspiration from their divorce, her focus remains on their child.
“I never want to belittle or feel the need to, because I think we both have a lot of love for each other and for our son, so anything musical that comes out is our perspective, and we need to process it in our own ways.” she said. “That’s my role. I just move forward in the ways I know I can do.

However, she admitted that although she has no remorse, singing songs inspired by her ex-husband can be painful.
“There’s clearly room for songs you’ve written about the love of your life,” Morris continued. “In some ways, I don’t want to say I’m on autopilot for songs like this so I don’t feel the pain, but it is what it is. These songs are meaningful and meaningful to people, so this is a wonderful gift.”

On her EP Break, which she dropped on August 2, Morris explored how she survived a divorce and moved on.
“This feels like an incredible journey of discovery, but also the grief of the death of a relationship and the joy and joy that you find in the wake of trauma or tragedy like that,” she told PEOPLE.
During an appearance on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert on September 25, she talked about writing “This Is How a Woman Leaves.” At first, she was “nervous” and people might get the wrong idea. And although she has written songs about “people who looked down on me,” Heard is not one of them.
“But at the end of the day, I can’t control people’s perceptions of the song they hear about me. With [‘This Is How a Woman Leaves’]“I can only imagine the healing that will happen live,” she said.
She continued, “If I’m writing the song and I can actually visualize it live and cry with strangers, when I go to shows and I’m just a shepherd in the audience, the most special thing is just being connected to a group of people. Strangers.”
