Fans have literally been waiting for any news surrounding the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto 6, and many believed that some information was forthcoming. Although the game has received one trailer so far and a handful of details, little is known about GTA 6 and what it entails for fans of the franchise. Naturally, as October rolled around, fans expected something was on the horizon, and they were right – but it was about the wrong match.
Rockstar has announced that Red Dead Redemption is finally coming to PC, a reveal that has blown the minds of many, and will likely come as a disappointment to some. That’s because a Red Dead Redemption PC port might actually be bad news for GTA 6’s next major trailer, especially given the timing of the announcement. Fans hoping to see a bit of Grand Theft Auto 6 may be out of luck.
Why do fans think the GTA 6 trailer might happen in October? October is a big month for Rockstar
Rockstar absolutely loves October because it’s usually when they reveal or release games during the spooky season. For example, Red Dead Redemption 2 launched in October 2018, and unsurprisingly, a port of Red Dead Redemption for PC also launched in October. So, it’s understandable that fans would think that another GTA 6 trailer might be released within the month, especially given Rockstar’s track record.
GTA 6 should learn from the story of Red Dead Redemption 2, not from GTA 5
Rockstar Studios should learn as much as possible about the story of GTA 6 from RDR2’s Arthur Morgan, as he has one of the greatest characters in gaming.
While fans already know some details surrounding the next GTA game, such as Grand Theft Auto 6’s fall release window, there are still several things that have been kept secret, including what the game actually looks like in action. The first trailer only showed cinematic footage, not actual gameplay, which, although it helps set the tone of the game, doesn’t give much insight into what players might do. That’s why fans have been hoping for a trailer in October, to finally answer some of their burning questions.
A new GTA 6 trailer doesn’t seem likely to appear this month, with the Red Dead Redemption PC port taking the spotlight.
Unfortunately, there’s a good chance a Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer won’t be released next October, and it’s all thanks to the PC port of Red Dead Redemption. This seems to be a big focus for Rockstar at the moment despite being developed by Double Eleven, with a release date of October 29, 2024. Of course, Rockstar will want to avoid overshadowing the release of Red Dead Redemption on PC by dropping a trailer for the game. GTA 6 a few weeks or even a few days ago.
It may now be unlikely that a GTA 6 trailer will be released in October, which will be disappointing for many, especially those who are concerned about reports that the game will not perform well. There’s always the possibility that fans will be surprised, but it’s not really worth getting excited about, especially since Rockstar will likely save the next trailer for later this year, perhaps even for the Game Awards. It’s a bittersweet scenario, as Red Dead Redemption fans will enjoy the PC port, while Grand Theft Auto 6 fans are still waiting for the legendary game’s trailer to release.
