Dana White is making Power Slap 9 part of the UFC 308 Fight Week festivities.
Former UFC strawweight champion Paige VanZant makes her return to the controversial division, fighting newcomer Chelsea Dodson on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Space42 Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because Chelsea is married to former UFC flyweight title challenger, John Dodson.
VanZant, 30, was victorious in her Power Slap debut last June, scoring a unanimous decision victory over Christine Wolmarans (highlights here). The event was part of the amazing UFC 303 Fight Week in Las Vegas. As for her next bout, the entire fight card will be streamed live and free on the Rumble app.
It’s the digital version of the old Spike TV deal.
“When I first saw the Power Slap, I thought, ‘This is crazy,’” VanZant told the UFC. “When I see crazy, exciting things, it makes me want to do it immediately. I’m definitely an adrenaline junkie and have been since I was young. I grew up dancing and being a cheerleader, but I like to get excited in life. I would say my biggest accolade is My toughness. I like to compete. I like to be tough, and that’s literally like the epitome of being a dog.
