Thirty-six percent of Americans plan to participate in Black Friday.
Fashion will be the most popular purchasing category during Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
That’s according to a YouGov report titled “US Black Friday & Cyber Monday,” which also found that 36% of Americans plan to participate in Black Friday this year, while 34% are scheduled to shop during Cyber Monday. Some shoppers expect to spend less this year, with 27% saying they will spend less and just 9% expecting to spend more.
Fashion leads as the top purchasing category among all Black Friday/Cyber Monday shoppers in the US, with 60% of all shoppers and 71% of younger Americans (18-34) more likely to shop for clothing during mega sale events. Followed by technology products, where 54% of shoppers are most likely to make a purchase.
In other results, the main driver of spending on Black Friday/Cyber Monday was discounts and deals (73%). This is followed by the opportunity to do Christmas shopping (41%).
