San Jose State Spartans women’s volleyball assistant coach Melissa Patey-Smoes has sounded the alarm about the inclusion of transgender people in women’s sports because she’s been embroiled in a controversy of her own.
Batie-Smoose was suspended indefinitely after she filed a Title IX complaint against the school alleging that Blair Fleming, the team’s transgender player, conspired with a competitor to help the team lose a game and injure teammate Brock Slusser.

The coach told Fox News about how serious the situation is in women’s sports.
“Safety has been taken away from women,” Patty-Samuse said in a segment on American Newsroom. “Women have been denied fair play. We need more and more people to do this and fight this fight because women’s sport, as we know it now, will change forever.”
San Jose State issued a statement to OutKick following Batie-Smoose’s suspension.
“The assistant coach for the San Jose State University women’s volleyball team is not with the team at this time, and we will not provide further information on this matter,” the team said.

Patty-Smus said she was asked not to speak to the media after the discipline was dropped.
“This is just another form of what the state of San Jose is trying to do — silence people who are speaking out about their First Amendment rights and what is right,” she told OutKick earlier this month.
She added that she wanted to “make sure that I stand strong and that only women should participate in women’s sports.”
The transgender controversy has affected San Jose State’s season in a big way. The team has seen five rival teams lose matches against them.
