As the remaining contestants on The Voice begin the knockout round on Monday, host Carson Daly delivered some surprising news: Tanner Frick has left the competition.
This was a big deal because in getting this far, not only did Fricke make his way onto NBC’s reality TV competition in the first place, but with his version of Morgan Wallen’s “I Think You Should Know,” he turned everyone’s chair. Four coaches – Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire, and Gwen Stefani. This is a huge endorsement.

After selecting McIntyre as his coach, Fricke went to the battle round against fellow country artist Tate Renner, singing Jelly Roll’s “Need a Favor.” Although Frick lost in that round, Bublé chose him to join his team.
Moving on to the knockout news, Daly simply noted that Frick, a 26-year-old from Manchester, Tennessee, “left the competition after training.”
EW has reached out to both the show and Frick for comment.
Fricke’s departure became public on the same day he posted a video on TikTok of himself singing a song that included the lyric, “Nobody wants me anyway,” in a recording booth. He commented on it with the same words.
Fricke has been in high demand among music professionals who serve as coaches on the NBC reality competition. Bublé said he chose to include him on his team because he needed a country singer.
“Tanner Frick was a big win for me,” Bublé said after Frick was stolen. “This is a previous four-chair role and a piece of the puzzle I didn’t have.”
Fans wished Fricke well in his TikTok post, with some suspecting he exited the series to get a recording contract. They were sad to see him go.
However, the competition continues on The Voice, which airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm ET on NBC.
