After the trip to New York Stadium on Saturday to face Steve Evans’ side, they host Huddersfield Town next Tuesday before another away game against Charlton Athletic, and Parkinson is looking forward to seeing how his side compete against three strong teams.
He added: “It’s a good week for us, and it’s an exciting week for us in terms of profile.”
“I’ve played Steve (Evans) a few times and obviously his teams are always really competitive, he’s done a great job at Stevenage over the last couple of years and now he’s back at his old club.
“For the last 10 years, they have been at the top of League One or at the bottom of the table, so it’s another good benchmark for us.
“They have improved recently but we go there well and in a good frame of mind and the players feel ready.”
Before his side’s 2-0 defeat to Birmingham City in September, Evans said: “We haven’t played the Harlem Globetrotters, which will show when Parky (Phil Parkinson) brings Wrexham here with the stars that come with the ownership there.”
In response to Evans’ comments, Parkinson said: “If we describe Steve that way, that’s fine.
“We kind of bring a profile to any game but I think there’s an expectation at Rotherham as well.
“When we go to teams in League Two or the National League, it’s as if Wrexham have come to town, it’s a packed house, people come to see Wrexham.
“I don’t see that often at Rotherham, there’s high expectations from their fans for them to be top of the league.”
