Six different types of brie cheese have been recalled from 12 states, including New Jersey, due to the presence of Listeria bacteria.
Savencia Cheese USA has recalled the six different types of brie cheese after routine testing of processing equipment at the plant where the cheese is made found listeria contamination, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
No illnesses or deaths have been reported in connection with the current recall to date.

Distribution of the cheese was “limited” in stores across the United States, but the few supermarkets that had the product, Aldi and Market Basket, pulled it from their shelves.
According to USA Today, states affected by the recall include:
New Jersey, Indiana, Missouri, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Texas, Iowa, California, Oregon, Colorado, Washington, Illinois
The US Food and Drug Administration warned that consumers who have the recalled cheese in their possession should not consume it and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
