ATHENS, Ga. – The Tennessee football team fell on the road to Georgia, 2-0.
UT (7-4-3, 2-3-2) had 10 total shots and six shots on goal but was unable to penetrate.
Keaton Mitchell and Sammy Woods put two on the frame each while Jasmine Boggs and Sarah Greiner each created a chance for the Lady Vols.
Ali Zazzara saved five shots in the goal, including a penalty kick in the 85th minute.
The first half was a defensive battle, with Ali Zazara making three saves and both teams going into the break scoreless.
Georgia (7-4-5, 3-2-3) got the ball rolling in the 67th minute as it found Nicole Furness in the middle of the net.
The Bulldogs’ second goal of the night came from Dasia Torbert who fired it into the bottom left of the goal.
Boggs and Greiner had shots on goal in the 77th and 80th minutes to try and get something going for the Lady Vols.
Woods then created Tennessee’s final two chances of the night late in the match.
